Talk: Safeguarding and Protection of our Territory & Cleanup at Villa Pacini
Friday 22 September, 3pm-5pm
A public talk (with associates, visitors, and citizens) on the impact and management of waste and the role of the circular economy. Immediately after, a ‘clean-up’ activity will be carried out at Villa Pacini and the areas adjacent to the park. Everyone is invited to participate and gloves, bags, and pickers will be provided.
With Zero Waste Sicily Association in collaboration with Circular Economy OdV and Plastic Free Sicily OdV Onlus.

Live Art Installation
Friday 22 September, 4.30pm-7.30pm
An installation project called ‘Urban Glass’ will be created and then donated to the community that frequents Villa Pacini.

Fermento Urbano is involved in urban regeneration by creating recycling bins, using the nudging technique to raise awareness and encourage people to adopt sustainable behaviours.

Children’s Workshop - Environmental education through reading
Friday 22 September, 5.30pm
To protect the planet and ensure a happy future for our children, it is essential to teach them the importance of respecting the environment. Through the reading of illustrated books linked to themes such as nature, the planet, and resources, it will be shown how they too can play an active role in protecting the planet through small daily actions. At the end of the workshop, parents can discuss with the teacher who will recommend books to read at home.

For ten years, he has been involved in promoting illustrated books and conducting training workshops for adults, teachers, and children. Currently, he is engaged in training teachers in Catania’s preschools.

Acroyoga Workshop
Saturday 23 September, 11am
Born in the early 2000s from the fusion of yoga and acrobatics and the principles of Thai massage, Acroyoga is a practice that allows for the realization of flying positions and sequences through the exchange between two or more practitioners who come together to explore physical possibilities, transcending them into an experience of connection, communication and overcoming fear. Acroyoga teaches respect and to find your own place in the world.

Chiara is a Hatha Yoga, Pilates and Aerial Yoga instructor, certified in Acroyoga from the Acrofusion training school, in 2019. Alessandro is passionate about movement, and became an Acroyoga instructor in 2023. He holds the rank of fourth Dan in Buod Taijutsu and thrid Dan in Ninjutsu.

Connections and Benefits

A dialogue with the public (associates, visitors, and citizens) on the topics of health and urban public greenery. Subsequently, there will be a planting and completion of the flowerbed adjacent to the public restrooms located outside Villa Pacini.
With A.D.A.S. Aps – Associazion for the Defense of the Environment and Health and the City-Environmenta Circle of Legambiente Catania.

Completion of the ‘Urban Showcase’ that started the day before, and delivery to the community that frequents Villa Pacini.

Kitchen Workshop: Eating Healthy
Saturday 23 September, 5.30pm
Workshop on the topic of nutrition and healthy eating aimed at families and their children, with vital information about a balanced diet and environmental respect.
With the Myda Cooking School by Lorena Crisafi
Conducted by Sara Torre, who has turned her passion for cooking into a profession. After training at the Myda school, she started her career as a private chef and catering services.

A creative workshop for kids to learn more about recycled materials and then create a personalized object. Using reclaimed wood and working with clay, they will create something uique and personal. We find ourselves in a historical moment where material consumption outweighs recycling. This workshop aims to develop sensitivity and responsibility in children towards a cleaner and above all, more environmentally sustainable world.

Children Workshop (6+): Recycling is more beautiful
Sunday 24 September, 5.30pm
An activity tailored for children aged 6+, using reclaimed materials and paper, kids will create a useful item in anticipation of the school’s start – a charming and colorful bookmark. This aims to encourage recycling art and promote strategies against waste. Children will learn how to transform recovered paper into uique and useful objects using ingenuity, craftsmanship, and creativity. Specifically, using the technique of paper marbling, an ancient Japanese decoration method involving a glue bath, oil colours and plenty of imagination.
